The Cary crochet kit company is giving away 12,500 exclusive kits through the 2026 Monopoly Game at McDonald's.
The Woobles, a Cary company that makes beginner crochet kits, is a prize partner in the 2026 Monopoly Game at McDonald's. The game's official rules list 12,500 Woobles Exclusive Mr. Monopoly Crochet Kit prizes, each with yarn and instructions and an approximate retail value of $40. Triangle Business Journal reported on the deal on Oct. 26, 2026.
The kits are instant-win prizes in the game's Chance Card Game in the McDonald's App. Winners claim the prize in the app by 11:59:59 p.m. local time on Nov. 22, 2026, and receive a code to redeem on a dedicated page on The Woobles' website by Jan. 31, 2027. The game period began on Oct. 6, 2026, and the Chance Card Game runs through Nov. 8. The rules name the company as Low Tech Toy Club LLC, doing business as The Woobles.
"The Woobles is here to prove that anyone can crochet," the company says on its redemption page, which describes its kits as combining easy-to-follow videos, colorful yarn and a cast of characters.
The Woobles was founded by Justine Tiu and Adrian Zhang, Duke University graduates who moved back to North Carolina in 2020, according to Business North Carolina. Tiu, a former design lead for Google Classroom, writes on the company's site that she took up crochet as a hobby and built the kits to help others learn something new. The company's catalog now includes licensed kits for brands such as Peanuts, Harry Potter and Hello Kitty.
