Parexel opens its biotech incubator in North Hills
The Raleigh-headquartered clinical research company cut the ribbon Oct. 16 on an incubator built with Durham's Cape Fear BioCapital.
Parexel, the global clinical development company headquartered in Raleigh's North Hills, held a ribbon cutting and kickoff event for the Parexel Biotech Incubator on Oct. 16, 2026, the North Carolina Biotechnology Center reported. In a LinkedIn post, the company said it welcomed "biotech innovators, founders and academic leaders" to its Raleigh headquarters for the launch.
Parexel first announced the incubator on June 22. According to NCBiotech, it brings emerging companies into Parexel's North Hills facilities and connects them with experts in regulatory strategy, trial design, early-phase development and technology. Durham-based Cape Fear BioCapital, an early-stage venture firm, is its first venture partner.
"Tonight is all about kicking that off, leveraging our expertise, leveraging our assets to be able to connect with biotech early," CEO Peyton Howell said at the event, according to NCBiotech. Jim Anthony, chief commercial officer and president of Parexel Biotech, and Cape Fear BioCapital general partner Dave Ousterout also spoke.
Parexel has been in North Carolina since 2014 and moved its global headquarters to Raleigh in 2025. NCBiotech reported that the incubator's next phase will add thought leadership and educational programming for participating companies.
