DG Matrix grows its Morrisville space to 62,500 square feet
The solid-state transformer maker is taking an additional 55,000 square feet at Southport Innovation Center as demand for AI data center power grows.

DG Matrix, a Morrisville company that makes multi-port solid-state transformers, has expanded its lease at Southport Innovation Center to 62,500 square feet, the campus owner, Trinity Capital, announced on Oct. 26, 2026. DG Matrix first leased 7,537 square feet in the campus's Building 1 in 2025.
The company's transformers are designed for power distribution in modern data centers. According to the announcement, legacy transformers are hard to make and require magnetic and steel coils, while DG Matrix's units are easy to install and can distribute multiple sources of AC and DC power while stabilizing for power surges. Trinity Capital said the added space enables DG Matrix to create up to 10 GW of additional capacity.
"As demand for AI infrastructure accelerates, we need space that can scale with us just as fast," CEO and co-founder Haroon Inam said in the release. "Southport's location and flexibility give us the room to grow our team and operations right here in the Triangle, close to the customers and partners driving this next wave of data center power."
Southport Innovation Center is at 951 Aviation Parkway in Morrisville. Trinity Capital bought the campus in late 2020 in a joint venture with Starwood Capital Group and says it has since put about $10 million into improvements; the property is now 86% occupied. Ryan Gaylord and Paxton Massarelli of Tri Properties represented DG Matrix in the lease, and Doug Cook of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord.
