The Clearing House plans a Charlotte office with 200 jobs
The payments company will invest $11.5 million to expand its operations to Mecklenburg County.

The Clearing House Payments Company will add 200 jobs in Mecklenburg County and invest $11.5 million to expand its operations to Charlotte, Gov. Josh Stein announced on Oct. 27, 2026. The average annual salary for the new positions will be $162,322, above the county average of $90,706, according to the state.
Founded in 1853, The Clearing House operates U.S. payment systems that clear and settle more than $2 trillion each business day through wire, ACH, real-time payment and check-image exchange services, the announcement says.
"We're excited to open a new office in Charlotte, one of the nation's leading banking and financial services hubs," said David Watson, president and chief executive officer of The Clearing House.
The expansion is supported in part by a Job Development Investment Grant approved by the state's Economic Investment Committee. The grant authorizes reimbursement of up to $2,430,000 over 12 years, paid only after the state confirms each year that the company has met its job and investment targets.
