The Triangle Business Journal profiled Tyler Marks, founder and president of Marks Clearing & Grading, in its Executive Voice series.
Marks started the company in 2018 with a single Bobcat, grading driveways and taking small clearing jobs. According to the company, it is now a turnkey sitework contractor focused on large residential and commercial developments within about 75 miles of Raleigh. It employs 215 people, runs a fleet of 265 pieces of equipment and carries an estimated $135 million backlog for 2026.
The profile also covers MC&G Capital, the company's land acquisition and development arm, which acquires, entitles and develops land to deliver finished lots to national homebuilders. That lets Marks manage a project from raw land to build-ready lots.
Tyler Marks credited the company's growth to its people and said the goal is to scale responsibly without losing its values.
Marks Clearing & Grading first published this announcement in its newsroom on March 3, 2026.
