Marks Clearing & Grading's Hispanic employees introduce themselves in their own words

"Every name carries a story. Cada nombre cuenta una historia." The line, in English and Spanish, is on the title card of a one-minute video in which Hispanic employees of Marks Clearing & Grading introduce themselves.

The Wendell sitework company posted the video on Oct. 14, 2026, to mark Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. Marks says it asked the employees to introduce themselves in their own words.

They come from across the company. They include a general superintendent and utility superintendents, who lead crews in the field. Others work in purchasing, accounting and facilities, or as an office assistant. Luis Sarria, the director of safety, whom Marks profiled on Sept. 15, speaks too.

Sitework across the Triangle "doesn't happen with one kind of role," the company wrote. It listed the crews moving dirt and running pipe, the people who get materials to the job, the team that keeps the books, and the people who keep the office and shop running.

The company did not say how many of its employees are Hispanic. Its careers page listed more than 250 team members on Oct. 17, 2026.

The company put it this way: "Every one of those roles matters, and our Hispanic team members are part of every one of them."
