Marks Clearing & Grading is site contractor for Prolec Energy's $140 million Wayne County plant
The transformer factory is expected to bring 330 jobs to the county once it is complete.

Marks Clearing & Grading is the site contractor for Prolec Energy's new $140 million manufacturing facility in Wayne County, the Wendell company said.
Prolec Energy broke ground on the plant at a ceremony attended by county, state and federal officials. Once finished, the facility is expected to create 330 jobs and make transformers for the electrical grid in North Carolina and beyond.
Marks is handling the groundwork that gets the site ready for construction. The company said it is working alongside BW Design Group and Prolec Energy on the project.
