Marks Clearing & Grading moves to curb and asphalt at KB Home's Magnolia Forest

Marks Clearing & Grading is moving from underground utilities to curb and asphalt at Magnolia Forest, a 154-lot KB Home community near Raleigh.
According to the company, its scope on the project includes more than 26,000 linear feet of storm, water and sanitary utilities, more than 16,000 linear feet of curb and more than 25,000 square yards of asphalt.
Marks said this is the stage where residential schedules most often slip, because underground work must be tested and accepted before curb goes in, and curb must cure before paving. It said running its pipe, curb and paving crews in-house under the same superintendents keeps each handoff moving so the builder gets finished lots on schedule.
