Marks Clearing & Grading ranks No. 6 on Triangle Business Journal's 2025 Fast 50
The Wendell sitework company announced the ranking on Oct. 20, 2025, and credited its people. It did not publish the revenue or growth rate behind it.
Tyler Marks started a sitework business in 2018 with one Bobcat, grading driveways and taking small clearing jobs, later company posts say. That business, Marks Clearing & Grading of Wendell, now clears land, grades, and installs underground utilities, curb and paving for subdivisions and commercial sites, the company says.
On Oct. 20, 2025, the company announced in its newsroom that it ranked No. 6 on the Triangle Business Journal's 2025 Fast 50, the paper's list of the region's fastest-growing companies. It did not publish the revenue or growth rate behind the ranking.
Its account of the growth: put maximum effort into every job, manage the workload strategically, and never compromise on quality.
Toll Brothers, Pulte and Lennar are among its largest customers, Gregg Marks, Tyler Marks' father and then the chief executive, said in a Triangle Business Journal Executive Insights interview. The company wrote about that interview on Oct. 27, 2025.
The culture behind the number, the company said, is faith, family and excellence. Younger people coming up through the crews, it said, are bringing new technology onto the jobs.
The company credited its leadership, field crews, subcontractors, suppliers and partners. "As Tyler always says, we're a team of A-players, and this award is a testament to our people," the company wrote, referring to founder Tyler Marks.
