Marks Clearing & Grading hires John Dodd as vice president of commercial operations

Marks Clearing & Grading announced on April 2, 2026, that Dodd has joined as vice president of commercial operations. The company says Dodd has more than 30 years in civil construction and has led more than $500 million in work across more than 10 sectors, from federal and military facilities to pharmaceutical campuses.
The hire came two days after the company said, on March 31, that it was the site contractor on Prolec's $140 million plant expansion in Goldsboro.
"I try to put myself in other people's shoes," Dodd said. "Having worked in the field, I respect every role in the company and listen when concerns are brought to me."
What drew Dodd to the company, it wrote, was the culture it sums up as "Faith, Family, and Dirt." "A lot of companies talk about their values," Dodd said. "Marks lives them out every day."
