Marks Clearing & Grading profiled its director of safety, Luis Sarria, C-MESH, at the start of Hispanic Heritage Month.
Sarria has more than 10 years in construction and safety, the company said, and began his career working in the field. He describes a strong safety culture as coming down to accountability, communication, consistency and looking out for one another.
Across the company's Triangle jobsites, that work ranges from crew conversations at the start of a shift to stand-downs that bring entire pipe crews together to review hazards. The company's stated goal: everyone goes home safe.
