Gregg Marks wins a 2026 Triangle Business Journal Corporate Leadership Award
The award came weeks after Marks Clearing & Grading named Gregg Marks executive chairman and chief growth officer and Tim Clay chief executive. The company says it also reflects the people who make the work happen.
The Triangle Business Journal named Gregg Marks, executive chairman and chief growth officer of Marks Clearing & Grading, a winner of its 2026 Corporate Leadership Awards, the company said on Sept. 16, 2026.
The awards go to Triangle executives whose leadership shapes their companies and the region. For Gregg Marks, the honor comes weeks into a new role.
The company announced on Aug. 4 that Gregg Marks had moved from chief executive to executive chairman and chief growth officer, a role Gregg Marks described as "growth, culture, strategy, and acquisitions." On Aug. 6 it announced Tim Clay as chief executive.
The Journal has recognized the company before. It ranked the company No. 6 on its 2025 Fast 50 list of the Triangle's fastest-growing companies, and in April named Tyler Marks, Gregg Marks's son and the company's founder and president, to its 2026 40 Under 40.
The company's post says the award also reflects the operators, foremen, superintendents, project managers, estimators, mechanics and support teams who make the work happen.
