Now the Winston-Salem credit union is building a financial center there, and in April 2026 the steel went up.\n\nHayco Construction, the Pilot Mountain contractor building the 3,800-square-foot Hickory Financial Center on U.S. 321, posted on April 20 that the foundation was set. \"Foundation is set, columns are rising, and we're just getting started,\" the company wrote.\n\nAllegacy says the Hickory center will offer personal banking, small business and commercial banking, and wealth management. Its Hickory page also lists interactive teller machines, which connect members with Allegacy staff from their car.\n\nThe opening date has moved. Allegacy broke ground in March 2026, according to an April 6 release that described the ceremony as taking place \"last month.\" That release said the center was expected to open in July. Allegacy's Hickory page now says the branch will open early in the fourth quarter of 2026.\n\nHayco has worked for Allegacy before.
